It is a simple idea – create environmental change in your own life, and then engage politicians and your friends to do the same. The challenge is a commitment to do four things:
- Calculate and then reduce your carbon footprint by 20% over one year
- Vote in the next election with the environment as your priority issue
- Write or otherwise engage three politicians on the need for change
- Inspire others – let’s create a movement!
If you are willing to take on this challenge, please reply to this page below and I will sign you up. The goal is to have 10,000 voices all ringing for change. We can do it, and you can help!

you go girl! I read through your blogs and they are excellent – very inspiring! I think people will have a lot of respect for what you are trying to accomplish, Ms. Greens.
Thanks Jill! That means so much to me!
Great stuff! You are blogging up a storm about all kinds of relevant stuff! Good for you! I love that you have a carbon footprint caluclator- we need to raise awareness of the impact of our lifestyles. Do you know about carbon offsetting? I buy mine from Bonneville (b-e-f.org).
This is a really good place. It’s very clear and sharp. I like the graphics too. I am also trying to reduce my carbon footprint, 20% is a good figure to aim for.
I’ve subscribed to this blog now so I look forward to reading more!
I’d love to commit to this, it fits in very well with what I already try to do. Which carbon calculator would you suggest using? x
